Luckily, our Camp-Resort is located near many unique and must-visit cities. Just 45 minutes away, one can find Sacramento. And if you only have a day to spend in Sacramento, it’s sure to be a busy one spent exploring different must-see attractions. Keep reading to find out about some of our family friendly favorites!



Take a journey into the past at the California State Railroad Museum! Experience the feats of engineering and ingenuity that have kept the Golden State steaming along for nearly 200 years – from immaculately restored engines and cars to exciting events and exhibits that bring the railroad to life.



In the 1800’s, Swiss immigrant John Sutter made his way to Sacramento to start an agricultural settlement – the first in the area! Throughout the years, Sutter was quick to open his doors and offer hospitality to anyone who needed. Because of Sutter, Sacramento became a destination to many travelers. Take a step back in time and visit the famous fort complete with full costumes and more!

 Located at the base of the Sierra foothills, the lake and recreation area offers opportunities for hiking, biking, running, camping, picnicking, horseback riding, water-skiing and boating. Spend some time exploring this beautiful area!

With 16 acres and over 1,000 animals, you could spend all day exploring the Sacramento Zoo! For a shorter trip, take a two-hour tour of their more popular exhibits like flamingo chicks, reptile house, or lion exhibit.
