Not only is Jellystone Park™ an amazing place to get away for your vacation, there are tons of local attractions to explore during your stay! The area surrounding our Camp-Resort is filled with fun and exciting things to do and see – such as the Old Sacramento Waterfront. An hour drive north of the park, there’s no shortage of things to do once you’re in the historic Gold Rush-era district. Keep reading for inspiration on what you can discover!

 

1. Tower Bridge

The iconic Tower Bridge of Sacramento is directly visible from the waterfront. Take a step back and marvel at the 737 foot bridge constructed in 1935 – be sure to snap a picture when the sun hits this iconic landmark!

2. Museums

Whether your interest lies in automobiles, railroads, or Sacramento’s history, there are tons of choices for how to spend a couple hours immersing yourself in new and interesting information!

3. History Tours

If history is your area of interest, be sure to sign up for a history tour and travel through time to when Sacramento was first founded. Feel the fever of the Gold Rush, get spooked with spooky stories from the past, or explore the underground space created in the 1860s after the city was flooded! Tours are led by the History Museum.

4. River Walk

Directly across from the Old Sacramento Waterfront is the beautifully kept natural area perfect for strolling along the river. Explore the promenade and grand staircase, then enjoy a picnic with view of the bridge, skyline, and Old Sacramento.

5. Dining & Shopping

Take an old time photo, explore the antique shops, find your next favorite shirt at one of the boutique clothing stores, purchase saltwater taffy, and more! Plus, there are tons of amazing restaurants to choose from!
